The thought of getting a job puts a smile on everyone’s face. Having a job gives one assurance to needs, necessities, and wants. Unless you’re born with a silver spoon in the mouth or an entrepreneur building a business from scratch, getting a job saves you loads of trouble.
With the South Sudan crisis, many people have been displaced in different parts of the country. Luckily enough many humanitarian organizations have sprouted the country. These include organizations, concerned with refugees, children, and education among others.
But the challenge comes to the application process. So in this article, I will share with you some websites I find helpful that you too can leverage applying online.
All the sites will require you to sign-up with them and create your profile.
1. Impact-pool
Impact pool is a magnet. It’s a career platform that lists vacancies for people whose aim is to pursue their careers with mission-driven organizations.
The mission-driven organization is another term for Non-Government Organizations. Their sole aim is to deliver services to the vulnerable population in South Sudan.
NGOs in South Sudan listed on the platform include Action Aid, WFP, and UNOPS, etc.
Instead of the traditional writing of a letter in pen and paper and applying to the relevant offices, impact pool allows you to sign up on the platform and update your profile so you can apply for any job listing.
Everything is done online except for interviews depending on the organization’s hiring policy.

2. Relief Web
Unlike other career sites, ReliefWeb was enacted by the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). It’s managed by the Digital Services Section of OCHA’s Information Management Branch.
The editorial team monitors and collects information regarding vacancies from over 4,000 key sources including humanitarian agencies at the international and local levels, governments, think-tanks, research institutions, and the media.
They also select, classify, curate, and deliver the content that is most relevant to global humanitarian workers and decision-makers daily. This enables them to make informed decisions and plan effectively.
The major content includes the latest reports, maps, and infographics from trusted sources that are delivered across the reliefweb.int website, social media platforms, subscription services, and other specialized OCHA platforms.
It’s therefore a valuable resource for job listings and training programs thus helping humanitarian organizations to avail career and training opportunities to South Sudan and the global audience.
