How to Check if your Tecno Phone and Battery are Original

Consumers today are getting more interested in smartphones and South Sudan is not left out of the smartphone revolution. Amidst the love for extremely expensive Apple products, Tecno phones are winning the war as they are taking the smartphone market in South Sudan with the new range of Tecno Android Smartphones.

Tecno has built its smartphones on the trusted and yet tested Android platform and has kept its prices low and affordable for the middle class and the rich. This has added to its popularity across South Sudan and Africa.

I recommend buying Tecno phones for the nature and quality of their battery. If you’re on a fixed budget and want to enjoy classic mobile technologies, you can get yourself one of the latest Tecno Android Phones.

Now that some bad people are aware that South Sudan is one of the consumers of Tecno products, they have started scamming some consumers by selling fake Tecno Androids to them. To combat this, the Tecno company has created a webpage that you can use to check if your Tecno Phone and the battery are genuine.

Using the SN(Serial Number), VC, and IMEI digits of your Tecno phone, you can now check if your phone and the battery are both original.

Steps to follow:

=> Go to: http://gc.tecno-mobile.com/ and enter the info, then click submit.

In case your Tecno phone is a duplicate, a pop-up will show that the VC is not correct and you should get an original Tecno Phone from an authorized dealer.

Alternatively:

=> Just go to Settings on your phone if you have switched it on.

=> Scroll down and then go to About phone

=> The phone status will display the IMEI information, Serial number, etc.

If your Tecno smartphone battery is fake, you will see the notification.

And if it’s a genuine battery, it will simply display “This is an original battery

How do I get the IMEI and VC of my Tecno phone?

If you are still in the process of purchasing that brand new Tecno phone, you can simply find it on the box of the Tecno Phone or see it after unboxing it.

Alternatively, you can get your Tecno phone’s IMEI  digits by dialing *#06# on your Tecno. It will display two serial numbers since it’s a dual SIM Tecno as shown below:

Where is the serial number of Tecno’s battery?

If you’re able to remove the battery from the phone, you will see the serial number on it and if you have an inbuilt battery you can still remove the back cover of your phone and see it on the battery.

Kindly share with friends to safeguard them from purchasing fake Tecno products.

Let me know in the comments if your Tecno is fake or original? Be honest, even if it’s fake…
